Pennoyer Staff Newsletter - 5/17/24

                                             Hawk Thoughts & Happenings

Team Pennoyer,

Where coming up to our two week final stretch, and I can't believe it!  Things are starting to really come together for our final weeks and all of the celebrations and events we having coming up.  I want to thank everyone for their hard work, dedication, and efforts leading up to the end of our school year.  I know there's a lot going on right now, and I appreciate everyone staying positive and focused on our students until the very end.  Remember to focus on yourselves too though.  If you need support with something, need to talk through a situation, or just need somebody to listen, I'll always do everything I can to make myself available.  I'm excited about the Talent Show/Art Showcase coming up next Wednesday, and our 8th graders, preschoolers, and kindergarteners having special events in the final days of school.

I know it's almost officially summer, but this week made me feel like it was the start of the fall season with the Chicago Bears 2024-2025 schedule coming out this week!  I know I get a little crazy about our Chicago Bears like I do music, so this has been an exciting distraction during the week.  Maybe with our ties to the McCasky family, we'll get another special treat coming to Pennoyer!  If you didn't see it, you gotta check out this video release that the Bears put out to showcase their schedule.  Even if you're not a football fan, if you like John Hughes and Chicago based movies from the 80's...watch this and enjoy!

  • Wanna make somebody's day at Pennoyer...don't forget about our staff shout outs we'd like to get started up again this year!  It's real easy; if one staff member wants to give another staff member at Pennoyer a positive shout out for something that week, just send a quick email blurb to Adam, and he'll feature it in our weekly Hawk Happenings!
  • Great job with all the social media posts shared for the month of April! Keep it up in May. Here's the Google Form for teachers to complete.  Thanks!!!

Hawk Celebrations

I have to say, the celebration this week is more of a selfish one for me.  I can't begin to explain what an amazing Superintendent and person Dr. Kristin Kopta is to me and our entire District and community.  I've never worked so closely and collaboratively with an administrator before with such ease and a level of respect, trust, and understanding that is unmatched.  Dr. Kopta is a leader in every sense of the word.  She has a clear vision, understands how to get there, and creates an environment where others can thrive and become competent leaders themselves.  To say she goes above and beyond is an understatement.  Dr. Kopta is in the trenches and helping out in our school on a daily basis in ways I've never seen any other Superintendent even attempt.  Whenever I or staff members need support or guidance in any way, she steps in and makes it a priority.  When I come to work every day, I truly look forward to working together, and I know we can tackle any obstacles along the way with her steering the ship.  Beyond a doubt, Pennoyer is special, and we're in a better place each and every year because of the hard work, dedication, and passion that Dr. Kopta brings to her job every single day for every single student, staff member, our families, and the entire community.  #Pennoyerpride and #SuperintendentRocks!
